About the role
Teaching Arabic to a child who has never seen the Arabic alphabet before is one of the most rewarding challenges in education. We are looking for a teacher who genuinely loves that challenge.
Our students are English-speaking children in the UK, USA, and beyond — starting from zero. Your job is to guide them step by step into a language their ears are not yet trained to hear, using patience, creativity, and a structured approach that grows with them.
Your teaching approach
- Start lessons with more English support and gradually reduce it as the student gains confidence — building toward full Arabic immersion without causing anxiety
- Use interactive tools, digital whiteboards, and gamified platforms (Kahoot, Wordwall, Quizizz) to make vocabulary and grammar stick
- Clearly explain the mechanics of producing distinct Arabic sounds that don't exist in English (ع، غ، خ، ح) by guiding students on throat and tongue placement
- Every correction comes with encouragement first

Requirements
1. Linguistic & Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA) or higher in Arabic Language, Arabic Linguistics, or Arabic Literature from a reputable university (e.g. Al-Azhar University, Dar Al-Uloom)
- TAFL / AFL certification in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers) — strongly preferred
- Flawless command of Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha) grammar
2. Language & Explanatory Skills
- Moderate to strong English proficiency — must be able to explain complex grammar rules in the student's native language when immersion alone is not enough
- Ability to break down phonetics anatomically — explaining how to produce sounds that do not exist in English
- Skill in scaling immersion: gradually reducing English use as the student progresses, without causing anxiety
3. Online Teaching Skills
- Experience using interactive digital tools and gamified platforms for young learners
- Patience, warmth, and the ability to make a child fall in love with Arabic sounds before they can read a single word
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional teaching environment
